James quietly came into the house and shut the door. He put the bouquet of roses down on a nearby table and took off his shoes. Eva had no idea that he had decided to come home early from his trip. As he approached the bedroom, he saw that the door was half-closed. James froze as he heard voices coming from the room.

“Did you hear something?”

“No…I didn’t hear anything, Daniel…”
